We are pleased to share the latest Onos product updates, with improvements focused on protecting work in progress, making information easier to access and improving performance across key areas of the platform.
# 🚀 Onos Platform Release Notes

**This month’s updates include:**
* PDF styling and performance improvements
* Schedule Timelines
* Action close-out and overdue metrics
* WhatsApp notifications

### 📄PDF Styling and Performance Improvements
We have introduced a new PDF renderer to improve the performance, reliability and presentation of PDF exports throughout the platform.

**What this means for you:**
* Faster PDF generation (2-5x)
* More consistent styling and layouts
* Improved performance for larger or more detailed records
* More reliable document exports
**Admin next steps:**
No setup is required. Existing PDF export processes remain the same. For some PDF exports there are additional check boxes for compact views.

🕒 **Schedule Timelines**
Timelines are now available for Actions, Projects, Scorecards and Audit Schedules, providing a clearer chronological view of the activity and changes associated with each record.

**What this means for you:**
* A clearer view of record history and activity
* Improved visibility of changes and progress
* More context when reviewing records
* A stronger audit trail within the platform

**Admin next steps:**
No configuration is required. You will now see a timeline tab in the modules mentioned.

📊 Close-Out and Overdue Metrics
New metrics and charts have been added to the Actions, Snagging and Observations Overview pages, providing greater visibility of close-out performance and overdue items.
New high-level cards show **Closed on Time** and **Average Days to Close**. Additional charts include **Closed on Time**, **Average Days to Close**, **Overdue by Project** and **Overdue by Priority**, helping teams monitor performance, identify risks and focus on the items requiring attention.
A range of Dashboard cards is also available to display overdue records, allowing organisations to include the most relevant close-out information on their dashboards.

**What this means for you:**
* Faster identification of overdue and higher-priority actions
* Clearer visibility of close-out performance
* Easier monitoring of trends over time
* Better insight into how long actions remain open
* Improved reporting across action priorities

**Admin next steps:**
No configuration is required. The new charts will be available automatically on the relevant Overview pages. You may also wish to review the new Dashboard charts and add the most relevant ones to your dashboards.

💬 WhatsApp Notifications
Onos now supports WhatsApp notifications for invitations and verification codes.
Where phone notifications are selected, WhatsApp will be used where available (user has downloaded), with SMS used as a fallback. Messages will be clearly branded as coming from Onos.

**What this means for you:**
* Invitations and verification codes can arrive through WhatsApp
* Users can receive messages through a familiar communication channel
* SMS fallback helps maintain reliable message delivery
* Email notification options remain available

**Admin next steps:**
This will be enabled by default. No changes are required to existing invitation or verification processes. Please make staff aware that legitimate invitations and verification codes may now arrive through WhatsApp from Onos. Users should only follow links they are expecting and should never share their verification codes. Should organisations wish to opt out of using the WhatsApp as the primary please request this from the support team.

✨ Additional Improvements
Alongside the headline features, we have introduced several further improvements:
* **Audits and Scorecards:** New scheduling options provide greater flexibility when planning recurring activity.
* **Waste Management:** Default recovery rates can now be applied by waste destination.
* **Asset Management:** New bulk import functionality, activity threads and additional table settings.
* **Fleet:** Further updates and improvements across the Fleet module.

🚀 What’s Coming Next
We are continuing to develop several significant additions to the platform:
* **Permits:** Digital permit management to support the creation, approval and control of permitted activities.
* **Weighted Sections:** Allow different sections of an audit to be assigned individual weightings, so higher-risk or business-critical areas have a greater influence on the overall score and grade.
* **Connected Modules:** Greater linkage between Onboarding and PQQ, Inductions, RAMS, training records, supplier documents, site sign-in and permits. Shared compliance information will help ensure that required company and operative records are valid before site access or permit activation.
* **ITP and Compliance Tracker:** New functionality to support Inspection and Test Plans, quality checks, supporting evidence, approvals and compliance monitoring.
