QR Codes FAQ's
Where are QR codes located for a new project?
When you create a new project, the QR codes generated for that project can be found in the QR Codes section.
What project-specific QR codes are available?
Project-specific QR codes are available for:
- Site Observations
- Public Observations
- Material Delivery
- Sign In / Out
These QR codes can be used to give staff, contractors, or visitors quick access to the relevant project-based form or process.

Are QR codes generated in other areas of Onos?
Yes. QR codes may also be generated when setting up items such as:
- RAMS
- PQQs
- Inductions
- Online Courses
- Schedules
- Fleet
- Assets
- Staff records
How do I share a QR code, such as for inductions?
Where a module has a Request or Invite feature, open that section to share the item.
From here, you can either:
- Send the induction or item directly to recipient
- Generate a QR code that the recipient can scan to access and complete it
The QR code can also be downloaded for use in other materials or printed for site use.
For Staff and Asset records, QR codes are available when viewing the individual record.

Can the Generic Link / QR Code be disabled temporarily?
The Generic Link / QR Code setting is currently managed globally, so it cannot be enabled or disabled on a project-by-project or module-specific basis.
If a Generic Link or QR Code has already been shared and you now want users to access an invite, for example training, via Magic Link only, the best approach is to remove the Generic Link / QR Code from the places it has been shared wherever possible. This may include posters, emails, documents, site notices or saved bookmarks.
Magic Links should be used where you want a more controlled invite process for specific, known users.
