πŸ“ New Question Types on Forms

We have added new question types to Forms to support better data capture and easier reporting. These inputs are available across Onos modules and can be added to new or existing templates.

  • Short Text
  • Paragraph Text
  • Paragraph Text with Formatting
  • Site Code
  • Site Dates
  • Site Address

These new options give teams more control over the information captured in forms, while helping keep reporting consistent across projects, sites and business units.

Admin next steps:
β€’ Review your existing templates and update them with the new question types where useful.

βœ… Default Answers and Staff to Notify on Forms

Admin users can now add default answers when building forms. This means text can be pre-filled, or a selected answer can be automatically applied when a new form is started.
Default answers are available across all modules and are designed to reduce repetitive admin work, support consistent responses, and help site users complete tasks more efficiently.
Alongside this update, users can now also manage distribution lists in the template settings for Audits.
Admin next steps:**
β€’ Review your templates and add default answers where appropriate.
β€’ For Audits, review and set the relevant distribution lists in template settings.

🏷️ Action Types

Actions can now be categorised and filtered by Type. This is especially useful for organisations using Onos across multiple business units, departments, or teams.
Action Types make it easier to group actions, apply consistent reporting categories, and filter action lists based on how your organisation manages work.

Admin next steps:
β€’ If you are interested in using or exploring Action Types, please reach out and we can configure this for your environment.

πŸ“± Removal of App Sync Prompts

Following feedback from site users, we have removed the prompt to sync when opening the app.
We still recommend that users sync regularly to make sure they have the latest features, projects, and forms available for offline use. This update does not change the sync process when the app is first installed.

Admin next steps:
β€’ Please encourage staff to regularly update and sync their app.

✨ Additional Improvements

Alongside the main updates above, we have also delivered a number of smaller improvements to help streamline admin workflows, improve visibility, and make day-to-day management easier across Onos.

  • Duplicate Roles - Admin users can now duplicate an existing role, including its permissions, making it faster to create similar roles without starting from scratch.
  • Improved Project Manager Selection - Project Manager dropdowns have been improved to better reflect division and region settings, helping users select the right managers more easily and reducing the risk of incorrect assignments.
  • RAMS Advance Flow Improvements - RAMS records can now be advanced, with linked items, SSoW content, and target template details carried across to reduce duplicate admin time and allow for greater consistency.
  • Multiple Assignees on Supplier Scorecards - Supplier Scorecards now support multiple users in the Completed By field, making it easier to reflect shared responsibility or collaborative reviews.
  • Multiple Approvers for PQQ Reviews - PQQ review workflows now support multiple approvers, helping organisations manage supplier pre-qualification reviews with more flexibility.
  • Open Actions Visibility - Open Actions are now visible across Incidents, Disciplines, Environmental Incidents, and Observations tables, making it easier to identify outstanding follow-up work at a glance.

βš™οΈ Why This Matters

Across all of these updates, our focus remains the same: reducing admin time, improving data capture, increasing visibility, and strengthening compliance without adding complexity for your teams.
Alongside the visible product improvements, we have also completed a significant behind-the-scenes platform upgrade. This work strengthens the foundations of Onos, supporting improved security, reliability, scalability, and faster future development. While there is no action required from admins or users, this investment helps ensure Onos remains robust, modern, and ready to support the next phase of product improvements.

πŸš€ What’s Coming Next

Our upcoming roadmap has been shaped by feedback from our recent product roadmap survey and ongoing conversations with customers. These planned improvements reflect the areas customers have told us matter most, helping us continue building Onos around real operational needs.

  1. Magic Charts - Interactive charts that allow you to click through into the underlying actionable data, helping teams identify trends, risks, and insights more easily.
  2. Improved Filters - A rebuilt, more dynamic filtering experience that brings information from multiple areas of Onos into a more powerful and centralised way to view and analyse data.
  3. ITP & Compliance - New functionality to support Inspection & Test Plans and compliance workflows, helping teams manage quality checks, evidence capture, and sign-off processes more consistently.
  4. Supplier Management Enhancements - Improvements to supplier oversight, helping teams better manage supplier information, requirements, performance, and compliance status in one place.
  5. Permits to Work - A digital process for managing permits, approvals, and controlled work activities, supporting safer site operations and clearer visibility of who is authorised to complete specific work.
